Red Dog is a game of chance between you and the Dealer. It is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards.

You are dealt two cards. If these cards are not a Pair or Consecutives, you must predict whether the value of the third card will fall between the values of the two cards dealt. If you predict correctly you are paid out according to the Payout Schedule.

The objective is to correctly predict the outcome of the game based on the values of the first two cards dealt.

Playing Red Dog

To play a game of Red Dog, do the following:

  • Click the Increase (+) or Decrease (-) button to select the amount you want to bet.
  • Click the Deal button. You are dealt two cards.
  • Based on the value of your hand, you can either:
    • Call: Click the Call button. No additional bet is placed on the table.
    • Raise: Click the Raise button. A bet equal to your original bet amount is placed on the table. If you win, your payout is doubled.
  • A third card is dealt and any winnings are paid according to the Payout Schedule.

 

Card Values

The Card Values in Red Dog are as follows:

  • 2-10   face value
  • Jack   10
  • Oueen   10
  • King   10
  • Ace   11

 

Example:

You are dealt an Ace of Diamonds and a 4 of Clubs, and click the Call button. You are dealt a third card that is a 2 of Hearts. You do not have a winning spread as the Ace has a value of 11 and not 1. Therefore, the 2 of Hearts does not fall between the values of the two cards dealt.

 

Terms

Call: This is when you want to complete your hand without raising your bet. A third card is dealt to you.

Raise:  This is when you place a bet on the value of the third card falling between the values of the first two cards dealt. A bet equal to your original bet amount is placed on the table. If you win, your payout is doubled.

Spread: This is the number of card positions that fall between the value of the two cards you are dealt.  For example:If you are dealt a Five and a Ten, the Spread is four. This is because there are four card positions between Five and Ten. A marker is placed on Spread position four.
Note: There is no Spread on Consecutive cards.

Consecutives: Consecutives are cards with values that are consecutive, for example, Three and Four. If you are dealt Consecutives, the third card is automatically dealt and the game is a draw. Your bet is returned to you. Note: Consecutive cards cannot form part of a Spread.

Pairs: Pairs are cards with identical values, for example, two Aces or two Fives. If you are dealt a Pair, a third card is automatically dealt. If the third card is the same value as the cards of the Pair, you are paid out for Three of a Kind. If the third card does not have the same value as the cards of your Pair, the hand is a draw and your bet is returned to you.

Non-consecutives: Non-consecutives are any combination of cards that are not Consecutives or Pairs. The spread is marked on the table by a token or marker. You can then raise or call.

 

Game Controls

Deal button:  Starts a game of Red Dog.

Call button: Completes your hand without raising your bet. A third card is dealt to you.

Raise button: Used to double your bet. A third card is dealt to you.

Increase (+) and Decrease (-) buttons: Used to change the amount you want to bet.
